Kitchen Expansion with Addition Extends Social Space

When social space is constricted by walls, or restricted from views of the surroundings, the home feels cramped when the party gathers. And you know what they say about any good party… This home in Rochester Hills, being situated right on a beautiful 9-hole, par 36 golf course was suffering from the worst malady of all – not properly living up to its potential. When 21st Century Building Company redesigned the floor plan and removed the back wall of the home with a new addition across the rear, the golf course came alive inside this home. Once completed, this was the kind of project that screamed, “Why didn’t we do this 20 years ago!” Incidentally, all but 3 of the existing kitchen cabinets were saved and only 2 new cabinets had to be built to complete the reconfiguration.   A well thought out rearrangement of the existing space saved the owners of this home over $10,000 in new cabinetry alone, and they were thrilled. The Braglias have bragging rights for their “new” kitchen, and if they don’t happen to mention it, many who visit their home at social gatherings do.
